Maxi-pads
I've collected a large variety of pads (yes, a very odd thing to collect!), so I'll share some thoughts and opinions -- mostly related to wearing-comfort!
I could probably make a table of comparisons, but that would be too much work! So instead I'm going to give a random collection of thoughts:- Wings are less comfortable when walking (rougher against the inner thigh than panties!), but help keep things in place in the long-run, and I can imagine they'd prevent some stained-panty sadness but that's not part of what I can review! So wings for a long or active day.
- "Ultra thin" and even the newer (past year or so) non-thin Kotex are stiffer, which I find less comfortable.
- Super-absorbent gel stuff isn't nearly as soft (in dry form) as older cotton or cotton-like fill.
- (Always) "Dri-weave" seems to keep things "cooler", though oddly enough I find it promotes more sweatiness and sticking-to-skin than a more direct cottony layer. Although with significant liquid it feels about the same (light moisture), whereas other surfaces typically feel damp.
Some favorites:- The older (5+ years) Kotex overnight are my favorite, since they're thick and soft, and sit nicely in panties, without wings. The newer ones are thinner, less "fluffy", and also seem to have a stiff layer.
- Always pads from about 7+ years ago had the best color plastic-backing: pink. The white isn't as girly. Also, the older (thick) pads weren't "quilted", so the cottony fill was thick and soft... although it would bunch up after many hours (or sports!). The newer ones don't bunch, but they're more compressed -- less soft.
- Some Japanese overnight pads are awesome for their hugeness! They're almost diapers to fit into your panties! They can feel kinda neat since they cradle your bum. But they can get a bit hot and sweaty.
Some other notables:- Stayfree Advanced Maximum Protection -- these are the most absorbent. They're ridiculous. A huge pad, full thickness, and the entire fill turns to gel.
- For a brief time, Stayfree had an ultra-thin with a "silky soft" cover. It's probably my favorite of the "ultra-thin" ones, as it was silky soft. But I imagine they discontinued it so quick because it doesn't absorb very quickly (too sheer!).
- Older cotton pads for use with a belt really scream the functional aspect of pads -- just hold something absorbent there, any way that works! Not so confortable when you have an oversized clitty.
That's due to the belt attachment, as well as little support without panties! The cotton of these is super soft and thick though.
- Always Slender (for teens!) is great for young girls, and in a pink wrapper! Of course, I prefer the non-"ultrathin". This is also a good "discreet" choice!
- My favorite of currently-available... probably Always Maximum Protection. Soft, supple, moderately thick so it stays lightly "in contact", and I kinda like the dri-weave thing.
Please share your thoughts, opinions, or even embarrassing maxi-pad stories! Has anyone else tried Japanese pads?
Sometime when I get my camera back I'll do an inventory and take a picture.

Hi girls!
Im having my period and have used tampons for many years. I just started using applicator tampons and find them wonderful. So much easier to use! how many others use tampons? I also use pads but Im a bit of a pantie wetter and bedwetter so I'm often in diapers as well!

maxi pads
Hi
I wear lingerie under my outer male clothes everyday to work. This includes bra, panties, pantyhose, panty girdle, camisole, and pettipants. Most importantly I always wear sanitary protection. I've tried most brands but found that I like Poise pads the best. I usually wear either pantyliners or the Poise Ultimate pad. The pantyliner is okay when you aren't having your period. When I'm in a meeting and need to go to the restroom, the liner will catch some "dribbles" until I can leave. I much prefer the bulkier Ultimate pad. I like the feeling of a bulky pad between my legs as it makes me feel oh so feminine. When I have my period, I wear this pad. Right now I'm in the third day of my period and my pads have kept me protected from an embarassing moment. At this time of the month if I have an "accident" my discharge/flow is heavy and only a heavier pad will work to keep me dry. Wearing a panty girdle or pantyhose over my panties, helps to keep a snug fit between my legs. If any of you girls are so inclined, I definitely suggest Poise pads as I find them very comfortable.
I hope this information will help some of you.
Love
Elaine
PS I did have an embarrassing (or thrilling) moment at one time which I'll save for another time as I don't want to drag this reply on.

Wow that is a big collection, but it does mean you don't need go shopping for them in time soon. It is always fun for me when I buy my maxipads. The last time I think I was actually laugh at. One of the girls behind me was giggling and her friend asked her why and she keep giggling and saying you know. It might not have been me but I did only have some maxipads and two other items that were small enough to sit on top of my maxipads and it the only thing I can think of being fun around the checkout area. I believe she might have touched my butt too but I am pretty sure that was just bushed against me by mistake.

I love pads.
I find wings much better for long term use, i.e through the day or whatever, my sister told me not to wear un-winged ones for any excessive periods of time.
But guys..erhem..gals ;)
If your not sure what to start with, i can say this, dont use the freshette cloth with some pads on ur inky dinky after making yucky boy cream come out ;)

Ooh I always need a pad when I'm not wearing my diapers. Always helpful in case I ever begin to leak a little besides they also help me feel more feminine and girly!

I recall all of the pads mentioned above except the Japanese ones. I started playing a wearing pads and panties many years ago. Like Pink Susan, I recall both the Kleinerts and Beltx sanitary panties. Kleinerts were far nicer, a really good quality nylon. Many times I wore one pair of Kleinerts and played the other. I now wear Stayfree Ultra Thin Maxi's daily for my sissy drippings.
I first saw Kotex pads in my neighbor's bathroom closet and decided to help myself. Beside the pads were belts and sanitary panties which I also borrowed. I learned which department stores sold the panties and of course, the belts were available at both drug and five and ten stores. It was somewhat challenging to get these purchases home before I could drive, but I managed.
I used to go sissy shopping for new lingerie and clothing. I liked to pick a shopping center with a drug store or discount store where I could first purchase a couple packages of pads, usually Kotex Overnights. I preferred the stores that provide bags that were easy to see though. After these purchases, I'd go to the other stores looking for outfits or lingerie. At some stores, I had to check my bags at the front counter. I don't recall any instance where someone gave me a hard look or even smiled but I'm sure there were times when they did. Of course, I was usually wearing some type of sissy clothing so I was probably more noticeable due to the clothing. There were a few times when I sat on one of the benches, usually across from some ladies, and I opened my package of pads. I then reached in to my panty purchase bag and pulled out the panties. I took the
pad and placed it in the crotch of the panty to see how it would fit. I think I was noticed on occasion, but often the ladies were engaged in conversation and not really looking at me.
Wearing pads is an essential part of a sissy's training. She must learn to appreciate these very feminine things. In addition, the thin pads especially give the sissy a smooth looking front area in her panties, vs. an unsightly bulge.
