Finding a swimsuit
What's the best way to buy a swimsuit? I'm looking around and what I've found is pretty expensive and it looks like it's sized differently. I'm a 36AA/32B for our non-American friends, it means my chest is pretty flat. Anyway I'm looking for a cheap padded swimsuit, I'm not too picky as to one/two piece, but I really like the swim dress/skirt style. Also, how would my frame fit into a suit, cause I don't really have the hips of a girl, even though I'm pretty skinny for a guy, at around <150 and ~5'11". Finally, how would you even try on said suit upon finding it. Sounds odd since I've gotten dressed at consignment stores, but they don't sell underwear, a think a swimsuit counts as that. Any advice will be appreciated.

I've got nothing very helpful to say except maybe to buy cheap online (etc) to find what is most comfortable and to go from there.
Mostly I'm going to steal any good tips that get posted here though.

Nothing to fear here.
Swimsuits are not underwear.
In most cases when trying for size the swimsuit is put on over your underwear.
DO NOT however remove the sanitary liner from the crotch (until you have
bought the swimsuit) !!!
That is what basically separates swim-wear from underwear.
If buying used (ebay-consignment store) then the liner may not be there.
If it is not there - well it is not there - don't fret the problem.
Now as for style and sizing use the internet to shop sources like Lane Bryant;
Newport News; jcpenny - even ebay.
Study their size charts and compare notes of what is available in your size
range (and color). There are host of other sources - keep your fingers walking
around the keyboard - use the search function.
I am sure that you will come up with something that works to your budget
and appearance.
Your timing is just about right to buy a swimsuit as the market will be going to
winter clothes soon. So you should be able to get a sales bargain closeout item
on the less expensive side.

Wow thanks for your input! That puts me in the right direction. Ironically, I just found an old swimsuit my brother's girlfriend left behind last year, so I think I have a starting point. I'm not sure if the fit is correct (obviously she has bigger breasts than me) and she has hips. Anyway my biggest fear about shopping is doing it in public, I still live at home so delivery isn't an option. Basically, going to an empty consignment store is different than a crowded department store.

P.S. I won't be posting pictures :p. I don't look feminine enough yet to pose in something revealing.

I just found some useful tips on how to find a suit to fit the TG frame; you can find the actual article on the blog section of feminization secrets for June 28th. All I'm posting are the highlights that I found most applicable, you might want to read it in its entirity.
1. Avoid string bikinis; choose something with thicker straps (this downplays the shoulders).
2. For the bottom, get ruffles, skirted, or side ties, and printed patterns (this enhances the hips)
3. Remember to pose, try for the hourglass shape, they liken it to the pin-up pose (they have a picture there)
4. Be able to tuck, or it will blow the illusion.

I recommend that everybody who's into the sweet divine feminine, buy a one-piece women's bathing suit or two. Reason: wearing it under a skirt and top or dress (But remember: If you're into pantyhose, put that on first) will make you look like you have a feminine figure. If you place balled-up socks or water-filled balloons where breasts would normally be, as far as a casual onlooker might be concerned, they ARE breasts.
I agree with your point about tucking. If you're not actually swimming, consider putting on pantyhose (see above) before putting on the bathing suit. It will hold your you-know-what in place, and will look sensuous and hot.
Stay feminine,

Last year, or two years ago, I forget, I went to Walmart and looked at one piece swimdresses, I found a line of "Catalina Suddenly Slim" dresses there. They were an even 30 dollars on the rack, and they looked and felt really great quality-wise, so I bought one.
This one below is what mine looked kind of like, but mine was pink and purple tye-dye.

I took a bunch of pictures of myself in the dress a few months ago, and I seriously love it. It fit me perfectly, the cups were padded too.
I think this is a Walmart exclusive dress though.
