Brought before the open skies that compelled you
In every dream it seemed our journey had just begun
And when time stopped so my voice could tell you
Well, by then the seams of our love had come undone

Alas, the innocence in our words went by so fast
I know not if my songs to you were well-loved
Yet the sentimental inferences,
Though better left unsaid
Brought more passion then either of us could trust

So enchanting was your style...
Though I spoke as timidly as a child...
I longed to kiss the lilies in your smile

My heart may be sad, it may be blind
But placing all broken sympathies aside
I still remain smitten by wishful thinking
Though you never were able to concede
What an honest happiness could mean
I do believe our shared memories
Are still worth remembering

So let us venture across this flower bed
Where we first overcame our lover's doubts
Frolicking among the roses, so tender and so red
I'll never forget that moment you kissed my mouth

My heartbeat raced for miles...
As the sun warmed this garden isle...
I fell, lost in the lilies of your smile.

... and for those who have found love, cherish them forever.

A beautiful poem. It seems in this day and age true love is hard to find and harder to keep burning.There is a sadness in your poem. Perhaps because it is so true to you and you have lost someones love and feel alone. Love comes in many different forms and just want you to know your loved dearly.

From my the bottom of my heart, thank you so much everyone!
There is a deep sadness with this poem as I tend to draw on raw emotion
most of the time, even I was surprised at how smoothly all of it flows.

Now that I have officially changed my name to "Jennifer Funshine"
I shall write again soon... to commemorate the joy you all bring me :)
